Voyager Beach Resort
The Voyager Beach Resort is located in Mombassa and has a nautical theme. It is a short walk away from a beach and a bus stop. Nyali Beach is a stretch of clean, lace-coloured sand with is great for windsurfing and sailing. On-site there are three swimming pools each with a different theme. Kids will love the waterslide and waterfall plus their own pool.
The main buffet restaurant has a different theme every night and there is also a speciality restaurant and an Italian. For children, there is a kid’s club and all the family can enjoy evening entertainment such as shows, live bands and traditional dancers. Other facilities include scuba diving, canoeing, glass bottom boat tours, tennis, beach volleyball and so much more. Double rooms can sleep up to 4 and include a balcony or a terrace.

Baobab Beach Resort and Spa
Situated on the world-famous Diani Beach cocooned by a tropical Baobab forest and bordered by a sandy beach is the Baobab Beach Resort and Spa. It is split into 3 different sections and each has its own pool. One is a huge multi-tiered pool with waterfalls and a swim-up pool and there is a kid’s pool. Children aged 4-12 can take part in the kids club and there is a host of entertainment in the evenings. With three main restaurants cooking up International dishes and two a la carte restaurants, you won’t struggle with finding something to eat. Also on site, there are tennis courts, archery, glass bottom boat trips and watersports including snorkelling. Their double rooms can sleep up to 4 people and have either a balcony or a terrace.

Diani Sea Resort
Another great hotel located on Diani Beach is the Diani Sea Resort. It has a prime beachside location and a tropical pool scene. Keep your eye out for monkeys as they are often seen swinging from the branches of the palms. The huge swimming pool has a whirlpool bath, a waterslide and a shallow pool area for the little ones. Their evening entertainment can include live bands, acrobatics and traditional dancers. Sports-wise there are tennis courts, mini golf, billiards, beach volleyball and water polo. The hotel runs a daytime activity programme and you can try your hand at deep-sea fishing, scuba diving or take a glass-bottom boat ride. Comfort family rooms can sleep up to 4 people.

Southern Palms Beach Resort
Yet another great beachfront hotel at Diani Beach is the Southern Palms Beach Resort. Their two lagoon-style pools have a reel castaway vibe and they fill the majority of the grounds. Make sure you stop off for a drink at the swim-up bars at either end. The hotel has a kid’s club for ages 4-12 and evening entertainment for all the family. Activities wise you aren’t sort of things to do. There is a tennis court, scuba diving centre, watersports centre, squash court, petanque and more. Foodies will love having four restaurants to choose from and four bars for pre-dinner drinks. Their larger deluxe double rooms can sleep up to 4 people and you can upgrade to be oceanfront.

Serena Beach Resort and Spa
Just outside of Mombassa is the Serena Beach Resort and Spa. Set around tropical gardens on Shanzu Beach this place is styled like a 13th-century Swahili village. The beach runs the length of the hotel so there’s plenty of room for your family. There is a large swimming pool, a spa with a floating relaxation zone plus 3 bars and 3 restaurants. Night-time entertainment can include live bands and acrobatic shows. Other facilities include watersports, surfing, petanque, squash courts, beach volleyball and visits to a golf course can be arranged. Just steps away from Diani Beach is the Pinewood Beach Resort and Spa. It is next to a huge sandy beach and the area is well-known for watersports. There is a large curvy pool with a swim-up bar and a separate whirlpool for relaxing in. In the evenings you can expect entertainment such as Maasai dancers, beach BBQ nights and poolside Mongolian dinners. As well as the watersports there is table tennis, darts and beach volleyball. There is a buffet restaurant with live show-cooking stations, one popular for wood-fired pizzas plus other options. Their deluxe or premium junior suites can sleep up to 4 people.

Bamburi Beach Hotel
Showcasing the best of Kenya’s natural side is the Bamburi Beach Hotel. With nodding palms, monkeys swinging through the trees and Bamburi Beach it is a perfect spot for families. The pool is set between gardens and has a natural lagoon feel to it. There is also a second pool tucked away in the grounds. Children can take part in the kids club and the hotel runs an evening entertainment programme. Other activities include watersports, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, table tennis and aqua aerobics.
