My goodness, this post was a labour of love. It has taken me days’ worth of writing and research. As a caravan owner and fan of staying in static caravans, I am always on the lookout for new sites to try. I decided to compile a list of 50 seaside resorts in the UK and choose a site nearby that we would visit ourselves as a family. This is what has taken the longest as there are a lot of caravan parks out there!
All of the parks below have pitches for tourers – when I state tourer I mean touring caravans and motorhomes. If the site has pitches for tents/campers this is also mentioned. If the park has any other accommodation available to rent (such as caravans or lodges etc.) then this is also mentioned. All sites are family-friendly and most have facilities specifically for children.
I have included a paragraph for each resort plus a paragraph for each caravan park. I hope you will find it as useful as we now will. If you click on a link in this piece, we may earn affiliate revenue.
The Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway is the longest in Britain. On the summit is the biggest Camera Obscura in the world which takes on a view of sea and land, plus a playground and cafe. There is a promenade that runs alongside the beach and a small ruined castle. The Animalarium Zoo is just up the coast at Borth. King Arthur´s Labyrinth is an underground storytelling adventure a short drive from Aberystwyth.
At Devil’s Bridge, there is a camping and touring site. Plus static caravans, gypsy pods and self-catering lodges. Includes a small and larger playground and plenty of woodlands to explore.
2. Anglesey Wales
Cross the bridge over to Anglesey and enter a part of the UK with plenty to do yet with the opportunity to also unwind. There is plenty of unspoilt coastline with pretty villages. To me, the whole of Anglesey is a seaside resort. As well as pretty beaches you will find historic castles, plenty of cycling paths, boat rides, a sea zoo and burial chambers.
There are many caravan parks on the isle of Anglesey. Penrhyn bay caravan park is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. They offer touring and camping pitches. Facilities include a recently installed outdoor playground, a heated indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and a games room with amusements.

3. Ayr – Scotland
Ayr is more of a seaside town than a resort. It does, however, have a seafront with a walkway alongside the beach, a play park and indoor amusements with soft play. The area also has castles, a farm park and lovely gardens that are worth a visit.
The water park at this Haven resort looks absolutely amazing and is without a doubt one of Haven’s best pools. As well as touring and camping pitches you can also hire a static caravan or stay in an apartment. The site also has many other indoor and outdoor activities, plus day and night entertainment, restaurants, shop and more.

4. Blackpool – Lancashire, England
The ultimate in seaside resorts? There is so much to do at Blackpool that it would need a post all of its own. Not only do you have long stretches of sandy beaches but there are piers, amusement arcades, a massive theme park (Pleasure Beach), the Blackpool Tower, an aquarium, a zoo, trams, a ballroom and so much more. Most of Blackpool is taken up by hotels and B&Bs. The caravan parks are a lot further out of town than most other sites across the country.
I love the look of this site. It’s a complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of Blackpool. With privacy hedges on some of the pitches and a playground for the kids. A great site I’m sure for unwinding after a busy day.

5. Bognor Regis – South Coast, England
Bognor Regis is a small traditional seaside town popular with tourists. It has some great clean family-friendly beaches. There’s a lovely park with a miniature railway, boating lake, playground and more. The most popular attraction is its pier. There is a promenade nearly 3 miles long with a land train to take the weight off your feet.
Located just a few miles from the beaches of Bognor and just outside of Chichester. There are more lakes than land at this holiday park making it a great spot for fishing. There is onsite entertainment, a family bar, an outdoor pool and paddling pool, amusements, fishing and more. 6. Bournemouth – Dorset, England
We love Bournemouth, half my family live there for a start. Out of town, there’s an amusement park, crazy golf and a farm park.
There’s not really a huge amount to choose from caravan park-wise near Bournemouth. Meadowbank offers pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes but not campers. They have static caravans available to hire. They are a family-friendly site located in Christchurch, near Bournemouth. Located on the banks of a river it is great for fishing. The site has a shop, games room and children’s play area.

7. Bridlington – South Yorkshire, England
We have taken our touring caravan to Bridlington for the last two years in a row. There is so much to do in Bridlington for families. There are boat rides, a model village, a historic house, a new swimming pool, a land train, rides and a lovely stretch of beach.
This is a good site which has seen lots of money spent on it recently. They have evening entertainment, an outdoor playground, indoor soft play and just a short drive or walk to the sandy beaches of Bridlington.
The adventure playground focuses on family fun and features a wide range of equipment suitable for toddlers right through to teenagers. Nest swings, zip lines, climbing walls and a giant tower with a range of slides make this a place where the kids will spend hours on end. In addition to the main adventure play area, there is a smaller play area and sports area near Makis.
South Cliff Holiday Park
8. Brighton – South Coast, England
Brighton is one of those places I’d love to go to but have never visited. Its palace pier is so iconic, along with the Brighton Royal Pavilion. The beach is more pebbles than sand although I’m sure that suits a lot of people. There’s an observation tower that you can pay to go up to, amusements, Sealife Centre, an electric railway and more.
Located just 2 miles out of Brighton this site is nestled in a picturesque spot. They have touring and camping pitches plus a couple of pods. There is a playground on-site for the kids.

9. Broadstairs/Margate/Ramsgate/Westgate-on-sea – Kent, England
Four seaside resorts close together. Broadstairs with Fishermen’s cottages, sandy beaches and beach huts and family-friendly things to do. Margate with a shell grotto, rides and museums and Ramsgate with a harbour, nature reserve and more. Plus the popular Westgate-on-sea
Situated inland near all four resorts. They have pitches for tourers and campers, plus static caravans and lodges to rent. The site has a brand new clubhouse, indoor pool with flume, arcades, family bar, entertainment, playgrounds and much more.
Bude is a lovely small seaside resort town. It has plenty of lovely beaches with some great waves. There’s a variety of sports available in the area plus lots of picturesque scenery. Bude has some lovely coloured beach huts, boats to hire and soft play for the kids.

It’s all about the destination of North Cornwall with its bustling coastal resorts, beautiful beaches and picturesque fishing villages, all just a stone’s throw away from the holiday park. 11. Clacton on Sea – Essex, England
Clacton-on-sea offers a traditional seaside resort with a modern twist. There’s the award-winning seafront gardens, fairground rides, a pier, arcades, theatres and plenty to do in the nearby area. Once a year they host the Clacton air show which sees thousands flock to their beaches to watch flyovers and displays.
All caravan parks which accept tourers are located a short distance outside of Clacton-on-sea itself. There is a small cluster of sites further down the coast and near the sea. Martello Beach is part of Park Resorts. They have pitches for tourers and campers plus static caravans to rent. There is direct access to the beach and facilities include an indoor and outdoor pool, adventure playground and evening entertainment. Check Availability Martello Beach Holiday Park
12. Cleethorpes – Lincolnshire, England
Cleethorpes has stretches of sandy beaches and plenty of family-friendly things to do. It is in two parts. At one end you will find shops and the pier and you can board the lollipop land train to take you from one end to the other. At the other end (near Thorpe Park) you will find soft play, restaurants, a leisure centre and the Cleethorpes light railway.
The touring and camping site here makes it one of our favourite Haven parks. It’s a large site with some lovely big pitches. There is access to the beach and an outdoor playground. You can also use the rest of the park’s facilities which include a land train, indoor and outdoor pool with slides and a lazy river. There is day and nighttime entertainment, fairground rides, an outdoor playground and splash park, amusements and a small soft play. Plus plenty of places to eat.
Colwyn Bay has a long promenade next to the beach. There is a pier and further down at Rhos-on-Sea you will find a pretty harbour. It is close to the Welsh mountain, Snowdonia, castles and National Trust properties. It is an idyllic resort said to be the principal location to visit in the area.
Most caravan parks in the area don’t offer touring pitches. This site is more inland and a short drive from Colwyn Bay. It offers lovely large touring pitches set in the beautiful Welsh countryside. They also have luxury lodges available to purchase. The site itself does not offer any additional facilities to what you’d expect from a touring site. It simply looks like a well-maintained and picturesque site.
14. Conwy, Wales
Conwy is famous for its large 13th Century castle, which is well worth a visit. The town of Conwy is a world heritage site with a quaint harbour and boat tours operating when the weather allows. You will find the smallest house in Britain in the town and the lovely Conwy Morfa beach.
Located just a short drive from Conwy you will find this large camping and touring site. The park enjoys views down to the estuary and across to Snowdonia. They also have lodges available to buy. The park has an indoor and outdoor playground plus a family-friendly pub.

15. Eastbourne – South Coast, England
Eastbourne is a large seaside resort with plenty to see and do. It has spectacular coastal scenery, notably at Beachy Head. The area has theme parks, a zoo, castles and museums. The seafront has clean seas and recommended beaches from the good beach guide. There is a lifeguard patrolled safe bathing, seafront restaurants, showers, beach huts, cabins, sun loungers, deckchairs, a kid-safe wristband scheme and children’s attractions.
Bay View Park Eastbourne
The park has touring and camping pitches plus static caravans to rent. It is just yards from the beach and enjoys views across Pevensey Bay and the English Channel. It has been awarded 3 pennants by the AA and the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation. We are big fans of the David Bellamy Award scheme. Site facilities include an outdoor playground, golf and an onsite shop.

16. Falmouth – Cornwall, England
Falmouth has been strongly influenced by its connections to the sea and leads the way as a cultural and festival destination. There are beaches, castles, museums, boat trips, rock pooling and more. Falmouth has a harbour and is famous for the landmark hilltop castle that is Pendennis Castle. It looks just stunning.
Menehay Farm Touring Park is a peaceful, family-run, park situated in the wonderful coastal town of Falmouth, surrounded by lovely beaches and beautiful countryside.
17. Felixstowe – Suffolk, England
Felixstowe is an Edwardian seaside town. With promenades alongside its beaches. There’s a pier, amusements with rides, a large fort to visit and adventure golf. Felixstowe Ferry is a charming fishing and sailing port at the north end of the town.
The park is run by Park Holidays. They have touring and camping pitches plus static caravans to rent. There is an indoor pool with a water slide, evening entertainment, adventure playground, kids club, amusements, bar and more. Check Availability Felixstowe Beach Holiday Park

18. Great Yarmouth – Norfolk, England
Great Yarmouth is the biggest seaside resort in Norfolk. There is so much to do here! There are sandy beaches, a pier with rides plus other rides nearby at The Pleasure Beach, plus a smaller one for young kids called Joyland. There’s a really fun model village, sealife centre, wildlife gardens and much more.
I wanted to visit here last year but we ran out of time. The park has touring and camping pitches. You can also rent a static caravan or go glamping. There is an indoor tropical Waterworld and outdoors there is a fun-looking splash zone. The park has daytime and nighttime entertainment, a cinema under the stars and a large outdoor playground. 19. Hastings – South Coast, England
A little fact for you – Hastings is not actually where the Battle of Hastings happened, it is actually a few miles up the road in Battle. Hastings itself is a busy seaside resort with lots for families to do. There is a cliff railway, adventure golf, you can go on a smuggler’s adventure to see some caves. Hastings has a pier, miniature railway, aquarium, sandy beaches, playgrounds and skate parks.
There is a large touring and camping site plus lodges and static caravans to rent. There is an outdoor play park plus an indoor pool, indoor soft play and arcade. The park also offers fishing and a restaurant all set in some beautiful scenery.

20. Hunstanton – Norfolk, England
Hunstanton is the first large seaside resort on the north coast of Norfolk. There is an aquarium that is owned by Merlin Entertainment. You can take an amphibious vehicle out to sea to see the seals that reside in this area. There is a large funfair, crazy golf and more. You can also venture out into the local area where you will find plenty to do and see.
Searles Leisure has the largest touring site we’ve ever seen. Most of the pitches are large with privacy hedges. They also have camping pitches and you can rent out lodges and static caravans. There is plenty to do on-site such as soft play, day and night time entertainment, land train, indoor and outdoor pools and splash parks and much more.
21. Isle of Wight – Shanklin, England
Shanklin is a popular seaside resort on the Isle of Wight. It’s a charming seaside town with sandy beaches next to chalky cliffs. You can rent a beach hut or try various watersports. The Esplanade is lined with amusements, restaurants and more. You can also visit the nearby famous Shanklin Chine. This is a gorge with rare plants and a waterfall.
This park is run by Park Resorts. They have touring and camping pitches. They also have static caravans available to rent. The site itself is set in woodland but isn’t too far away from the sea. There is an outdoor pool plus an indoor pool with a waterslide. There is an adventure playground on site plus day and nighttime entertainment. Check Availability Landguard Holiday Park

22. Largs – Scotland
Largs is a popular seaside resort with a pier. The town itself has historic links with the Vikings. There is a harbour with sailing boats and a ferry service. A paddle steamer also runs from here in the summer months. The beaches are pebbly so great for those that hate sand. There’s also a rather unique castle covered in colourful ‘graffiti’ not to everyone’s taste but great for an Instagram selfie.
There are quite a few parks just for static caravans in this area. I have found a site that has a limited amount of touring pitches available as well as statics to rent. It is not in Largs but it is a short drive away. The views from the site look amazing. As well as the nearby Largs there is a golf course on-site and water sports (locally). They are bordered by a farm and woodland.

23. Llandudno – Wales
Llandudno is a coastal town in North Wales. There is a 19th Century pier, arcades and a beach. The cliffs of Great Orme jut out into the sea. Ancient tunnels lead to a cavern at Great Orme Mines. A 1902 tramway has an upper and lower section and travels to the headland’s summit.
Or you can take an alpine cable car to the summit. There’s even a dry ski slope. To the east, the smaller headland Little Orme is a nature reserve. It is a traditional and unspoilt resort.
This site has static caravans but they are not available to rent. They have pitches for touring caravans, but they don’t accept motorhomes. The site is exclusive and has a large ‘green space’ in the middle of the park where you can play cricket, rounders, football etc. The site is said to be friendly and welcoming.
24. Lyme Regis – Dorset, England
Lyme Regis has spectacular scenery lining its coastline. It is part of the Jurassic coast which is famous for the fossils that you can find on the beaches. It is said to be the home of palaeontology. There’s even a Dinosaurland fossil museum. There is a historic harbour and an ancient town featured in the Domesday Book. There are plenty of events throughout the year, plus plenty of boat trips to go on and an aquarium waiting to be visited.
This park is just 3 miles from Lyme Regis. They have pitches for tourers and tents. It is enclosed by trees and has views out to the countryside. The pitches are of a generous size. They also have glamping pods available to rent. There is a large children’s play area, shop and crazy golf.

25. Mablethorpe – Lincolnshire, England
Mablethorpe is my favourite seaside resort in Lincolnshire. I love that there is so much to do.. There is a sand train which even goes in the sea. This has various stops along the way including the seal sanctuary. Next to Mablethorpe’s main beach, you will find a fairground, plenty of crazy golf, donkeys and much more. They are situated near the beach just north of the main town. There is a land train and a sand train to transport you to different parts of Mablethorpe. The site has static caravans available to rent and pitches for caravans, tents and motorhomes. There are swimming pools and a new adventure village plus many more facilities.
Morecambe Bay stretches from the southwest coast of Cumbria down to Fleetwood in Lancashire. The headland offers spectacular seaside views with some of the most beautiful coastlines in Britain. Morecambe itself has a beach, splash park, playground and winter gardens. There is also bowling and a cinema.
Set in 17 acres of grassy areas and landscaped gardens. This site has hard-standing and grass pitches for tourers at a very reasonable price. They also have static caravans available for rent. They have two adventure playgrounds plus a heated indoor swimming pool and amusements. There is also a mini-market and on-site bar.
27. Newquay – Cornwall, England
Newquay has a special place in my heart as we spent many happy family holidays here when I was little. I remember long sandy walks through grassy dunes down to the beach. Then seeing the big waves from the Atlantic, popular with surfers. On the seafront, the aquarium has an underwater tunnel. There is also somewhere to go on a pirate quest. There’s a swimming pool, sea safari, water sports and a fun adventure park.
There are many caravan parks in Newquay. I liked the look of this one for its location near the sea. They have touring and camping pitches. You can also hire a glamping pod or hire a static caravan. The site itself has state-of-the-art facilities for the tourers and campers. There are no main facilities such as a playground, however, the site is just a short walk to the sea and the small village of Porth.

28. Penzance – Cornwall, England
Penzance is famous for its pirates and is the most westerly town of Cornwall. It has a historic port and boasts one of the mildest climates in the UK. There are many palm trees and tropical plants growing in Penzance. You can even see St Michael’s mount out at sea, which is well worth a visit. There are some beautiful beaches in this area and there is an art deco lido located on the promenade.

29. Rhyl, Wales
Rhyl is a seaside resort on the northeast coast of Wales. It is the largest resort in Wales. There is the local Bodelwyddan Castle & Park waiting to be explored. Plus an aquarium, beach, amusements and much more. A bit like Skegness it has taken some verbal bashing lately. The town is what you make of it and not what anyone else says. There are plans to build a 15m water park and plans for an Olympic pro kite surfing village. Eyesores are set to be demolished and other buildings refurbished.
Located close to Rhyl this park has pitches for tourers and static caravans available to hire. The site has direct access to the beach with miles of golden sand. There is on-site entertainment, bars, places to eat, indoor soft play plus outdoor play areas. There are also family amusements and an outdoor all-weather sports court.

30. Sandhaven – South Shields, England
Sandhaven is an award-winning beach in South Shields just south of Newcastle upon Tyne. There are miles of sandy beaches, a promenade and the Ocean Beach pleasure park. Ocean Beach has thrill and family rides plus a dry surf slope. There are some really great places to eat in the area. For history and culture, Hadrian’s Wall can be found to the north and Durham Cathedral to the south. You can also take a cruise along the Tyne and visit the nearby Dunes entertainment complex.
The site has pitches for tourers and static caravans available to hire. It has beachfront access and easy access to sports facilities for kids. There are shops and restaurants on-site plus a boating lake and the pleasure park nearby.

31. Scarborough – North Yorkshire, England
Scarborough is our favourite seaside resort on the Yorkshire coast. There is a south side and a north side both with beaches. The south also has a harbour, amusements, boat rides and a small fair. At the north, there is crazy golf, beach huts, a famous park for boating. steam train and more. There is also an aquarium and a very large water park just north of here.
This is an award-winning site by the coast. There are touring and camping pitches. Plus glamping pods and static caravans are available to hire. It is located just south of Scarborough and is ideal for exploring down to Bridlington, Flamborough and Filey. There is an indoor heated swimming pool and entertainment in the club bar for young and old. There’s a child’s play area, sports court, food, shop, arcades and more.

32. Seaburn – Sunderland, England
Sunderland’s twin beaches at Roker and Seaburn are the perfect place to unwind. The beaches are award-winning boating blue flags There is a wide promenade perfect for taking a stroll. Roker also has a pier that you can take a stroll on. A short walk from here is Roker park which has a lake, miniature railway and play areas. Roker Park is the epicentre of the Sunderland illuminations from September to November.
This site is a little bit different as it is actually set on the site of an old medieval ruined abbey. While it is not located at Roker or Seaburn I have struggled to find a site that accepts tourers other than Sandhaven already mentioned above.
This site is approx. 35 mins away by car from Roker. However, I’m sure you will agree that the unique location will make the trip worthwhile and there’s plenty to explore in the area including the Beamish museum. They have also won a gold David Bellamy conservation award which I am a big fan of when it comes to touring sites. As well as touring pitches they also have glamping pods available to rent and a luxury apartment.

33. Sidmouth – Devon, England
Sidmouth is a tourist resort and a gateway to the Jurassic. It is a beautiful town with a regency feel and is suitable for all ages. There are some really lovely beaches. The coastline is dominated by the vivid red sandstone cliff which dates back to the Triassic period. The town and the area itself has some lovely coastal paths for walking. Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary has over 500 rescue donkeys to pet and feed. There are plenty of other things to do in the surrounding area.
This site has pitches for tourers and campers. You can also rent a static caravan on-site. This is the closest site to Sidmouth but is a short drive away. For the summer months, there is a free hopper bus into Sidmouth. It’s a large spacious site with plenty of green spaces. You can follow coastal paths down to the sea. There is a small play area on site.

34. Skegness – Lincolnshire, England
You are never short of something to do in Skegness. Not everything shuts down over the winter and we like to visit it then when it’s a lot less busy than in the summer.
There’s a lovely big golden sandy beach. Plus plenty of bowling, an aquarium, a theatre, amusements seal sanctuary and crazy golf. In the summer there’s thrill and family rides, donkeys on the beach and more. You are also not far from Fantasy Island up at Ingoldmells which has rides to suit everyone. There is a shortage of sites that accept tourers near the beach. You can take your caravan to Butlins which is just up the coast at Ingoldmells (Skegness). We like Southview which is just out of town. There’s evening entertainment (not all year round), 2 outdoor playgrounds, an indoor heated pool and fishing. 35. Southend-on-Sea, Essex – England
The pier at Southend is so long it’s serviced by a small train and there’s even a museum at the shore end. There is so much to do in Southend. If you’re looking for rides there’s plenty over at Adventure Island. Why not take the cliff lift up to enjoy spectacular views? Southend also has a large adventure aquarium and beaches.
Southend again doesn’t have any caravan sites that accept tourers. Just a short drive away you will find this holiday park. It has pitches for 60 tourers and campers. Plus 175 static holiday homes, these can only be purchased and not sublet. The park is surrounded by a nature reserve with an abundance of wildlife to see in the area. There are also a few fishing lakes to choose from.

36. Southport – Merseyside, England
Southport is a large, elegant and Victorian seaside town. It has a long historic pier perfect for blowing away the cobwebs. From the pier, you can see Blackpool to the north and north wales to the south. You could go on a swan pedalo on the local lake or visit splash world with its flumes and pool. There are plenty of rides for young and old at Southport Pleasureland.
This site is just a short walk from the centre of Southport. There is a nature reserve opposite the caravan park. You can hire bikes and play tennis at the site. They have touring and camping pitches all at a very reasonable.

37. Southwold – Suffolk, England
Southwold has a wonderful Victorian pier, there is also a lighthouse within the town. It’s a charming seaside town on the Suffolk heritage coast. There are some lovely beach huts and a historic cinema. The electric picture palace has 70 seats and an organ. From Easter to October there are one-hour-long river trips.
This site is located south of Southwold and is just a short drive away. I have chosen one out of town because I like the look of the park. They have 120 high-quality touring and camping pitches, located on the clifftop. They also have lodges and static caravans available to rent. Cliff House is a David Bellamy Gold Award Park. There are bars and restaurants on-site plus a shop, playground and games room.

38. St Ives – Cornwall, England
St Ives is one of the most picturesque seaside towns in the UK. It is also known for its surf beaches. You can take boat trips out to the seal island to see the seal colony from the scenic harbour. There are cobbled streets to wander alongside fishermen’s cottages. The town has many events and festivals throughout the year.
They have pitches for campers and caravans. You can also hire static caravans, chalets and glamping pods. There are even 3 houses available to rent. There is plenty to do on-site with an indoor heated swimming pool, play areas and beach access. There are also bars, restaurants, amusements and more. Check Availability St Ives Bay

39. Tenby, Southwest Wales
Tenby is a harbour town and resort with sandy beaches. The ruins of Tenby Castle are on a headland overlooking the harbour. We had a lovely day trip over to Caldey island from there many years ago. It has a monastery, lighthouse, abbey and beach.
It is a lovely picturesque town and one of the prettiest in Wales with houses of bright colours on the harbour front. Blue Lagoon water park is an indoor pool slide, rapids and a lazy river. There is a dinosaur park just outside of town with plenty to do plus Manor wildlife park.
The touring area has 143 pitches with landscaped hard-standing super pitches and a separate area for campers. As it is a Haven site there are also many accommodation types on offer. Such as static caravans, beach houses, chalets and glamping. In the park, there are day and nighttime activities. There’s a heated indoor pool plus an outdoor heated pool and a splash zone. 40. Torquay – Devon, England
This is a seaside resort in the southwest of England. Torquay has a busy harbour with palm trees and is known as the English Riviera. There is a large wheel down at the seafront plus a living coasts marine zoo and aquarium. With spectacular underground caves at Kents Cavern plus an 800-year-old Abbey and much more. You can take boat and ferry trips from Torquay and there’s plenty of water sports in the area.
As with some of the other sites above I have had to look a bit further out of town for a touring park. This park is a 15-minute drive from Torquay. Set in beautiful panoramic Devon countryside. There are pitches for tourers and campers plus static caravans for hire. There is a heated swimming pool and children’s play area. Plus a bar with entertainment. The park is landscaped with shrubs, hedges and trees to provide shelter and privacy.

41. Wells Next the Sea – Norfolk, England
Wells next to the sea is a beautiful seaside town on the north Norfolk coast. It is most well known for its picturesque beach huts. It is a port town and you can take seasonal boat trips out to see the seals.
The town itself is a mile back from the sea and a narrow-gauge railway runs from the town down to the sea. This part of north Norfolk is part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England and Wales. This makes it an area of outstanding natural beauty.
They have pitches for tourers and you can also hire lodges, static caravans and beach huts from them. Although I couldn’t find any availability for their beach huts. Pinewoods is another site with a David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award. The site is right next to a beach and a short drive or land train ride away from the port of Wells. As well as the train there is a playground, lake, shop and more.

42. Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset – England
This is a seaside town in Somerset, England, on the Bristol Channel. It is famous for its Grand Pier. There is also a family theme park and swimming complex. Plus an aquarium, beaches and an abundance of national trust properties and nature reserves in the area. There are plenty of other things to do and events throughout the year.
This site has pitches right next to the beach. It is a short drive away from Weston-Super-Mare. As the name suggests this site really does have a channel view. They have pitches for tents and tourers. While there are no entertainment facilities on site the location is your entertainment.

43. Weymouth – Dorset, England
Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset with sandy beaches lined with colourful beach huts. The town is full of Georgian houses and there is a revolving viewing tower. Plus a Victorian fort overlooking the harbour.
The sea life park is home to stingrays, sharks turtles and plenty more. There are fossils to be found on some of the nearby beaches. There are plenty of rides for the kids, adventure golf and farm parks as well as Monkey World. If history is your thing then there are many castles to visit in the area.
This site has plenty of pitches for tourers and campers with stunning views out to sea. There is an outdoor pool open in the summer months plus an indoor heated swimming pool open all year. There’s plenty of day and nighttime entertainment plus many other facilities such as crazy golf. Littlesea has an onsite bar and restaurant with views out to the lagoon.
Whitby is probably the most picturesque seaside town in Yorkshire. It is split by the River Esk and the buildings are set on cliffs on either side. The ruined Whitby Abbey dominates the landscape and was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for ‘Dracula’.
There is a Captain Cook Memorial Museum where Captain Cook once lived. West of town is the blue flag West Cliff Beach, lined with beach huts. This is a great spot for rock pooling. There’s an open-top bus that goes around Whitby, a pirate ship and much more.
This is a clifftop site with sea views approx. 1 mile from the centre of Whitby. There is easy access to walks on the coastal path. The site has a playground, games room, shop, bar and café on site. They have pitches for tourers but nothing for campers. There are static caravans available to rent on-site.

45. Whitley Bay – Northumberland, England
This is a seaside town on the northeast coast of England. There is a 19th Century lighthouse with a visitor centre and lovely views. The beach has been awarded a blue flag and Whitley Bay is a good base for exploring the surrounding area. There is a play park, theatre and swimming pool. Plus plans to restore the Spanish city with its dome are currently underway.
This is a caravan club and motorhome site with 59 pitches for tourers but nothing else. The site offers one of the best views of all their touring sites. It is perched on a grassy clifftop overlooking the lighthouse on St Mary’s Island. Whitley Bay is a short drive away from the site. Aside from the standard caravan site facilities such as washrooms, there are no entertainment facilities etc. on site.

46. Whitstable – Kent, England
This is a seaside town on the north coast of Kent. It is just 5 miles north of Canterbury and 2 miles west of Herne Bay. Whitstable has a working harbour and its beach even has a pub on it which is rare in the UK. The beaches are made of pebbles and there’s plenty of water sports in the area.
In the summer you can take a trip to Greta a Thames Sailing Barge. Whitstable was rife with smuggling in the late 1700s and the town’s network of alleyways was used as escape routes by smugglers. Most notable is Squeeze Gut Alley, so named as you will find it pretty difficult to get through. There is also a castle and gardens
The site has touring non-electric pitches and electric hardstanding touring pitches. This park is located right on the beach between the popular seaside resorts of Whitstable and Herne Bay. With only the promenade separating the park from the sea, there is access to miles of coastal paths to enjoy. The site has shows and entertainment most nights. There is a family bar, children’s playground, kids club and crazy golf. Plus an outdoor swimming pool, arcades and a store.
Woolacombe is a seaside resort on the north coast of Devon. It holds the ‘England for excellence gold award’ for the best family resort. The three-mile-long stretch of golden sand is well known for its cleanliness, water quality and facilities. There is the opportunity to surf in this area, plus other water sports.
As well as touring and camping pitches they also have static homes for rent. There is a heated swimming pool, kids club playground and entertainment. There is also a pub and a golf course with sea views. The South West Coast Path runs right through the park so it’s easy to take a clifftop walk around Morte Point and onto sandy, secluded coves.
48. Northern Ireland, Ballycastle – Antrim
Ballycastle is a seaside resort on the north coast of Antrim. Ballycastle Marina has a blue flag beach. There are breathtaking views and many different sports activities on offer. The Giant’s Causeway is just a short drive away. There is a ruined castle and a friary. Plus a harbour with boat trips.
This site has touring pitches and static caravans to hire. It is just a short drive away from Ballycastle. There is an indoor heated swimming pool with a slide. Plus amusements and an outdoor play area. Swimming pool entry is not included in the price of your holiday.

49. Northern Ireland, Newcastle – County Down
The blue flag Murlough Beach is only a short distance away from the seaside town of Newcastle. It is a popular coastal town during the summer months. Newcastle has a busy promenade with plenty of cafes, bars and amusements. There is an adventure playground and Funny farm adventures with plenty to do on a day out. There is also a water park, mini-golf, a ruined castle and more.
They have touring pitches that are grassed, level and spacious. They also have static caravans to hire. The site is within walking distance of Newcastle. There is an outdoor play park and games room.

50. Northern Ireland, Portstewart – County Londonderry
This is another popular seaside town on the north coast. The beach has been awarded a blue flag and is a popular spot for surfers. The beaches are also used a lot by horse riders. If you enjoy golf it has one of the finest Links golf courses in the country. There is also a ruined castle, promenade and theatre.
This is a site mostly for static caravan sales. They do however have 16 motorhome pitches and 16 touring caravan pitches. The pitches are level and drained. The site has a children’s play area and is just a short walk from the promenade at Portstewart.
